- Abstract
We agree with the authors that olfaction preservation is key in the surgical treatment of anterior skull base meningiomas, as loss of olfaction has been associated with significant reduction in quality of life [[3]]. Endoscopic endonasal surgery for olfactory groove meningiomas: outcomes and limitations in 50 patients. Intracranially, the olfactory bulbs occupy the olfactory grooves (part of rhinobasis) and lie on the cribriform plate, which represents the superior boundary of the ethmoid and transmits the olfactory filae through the foramina cribrosa [[8]].
