- Abstract
A new β-ionone, litulipiferic acid (12), was isolated from the leaves of Liriodendron tulipifera (Magnoliaceae). The structure of the new β-ionone was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence. The anticancer effect of compounds 1–3, 5, 6, and 8 on A375 cells exhibit a dose-dependent behavior. When cells were exposed to epitulipinolide diepoxide (8) at 100 μM, the data exhibited viabilities of less than 25% after 24 h of treatment.
