- Abstract
In order to determine the possibility of providing cells with nutrients during their incubation in a gel volume, the mass-transfer properties of mixed hydrogels are measured by optical spectrometry. The mass-transfer rates in the fuchsin gel and in model and real nutrient mediums are compared. The effect of gelatin on the optical properties of a two-component agarose-based gel is established, which allows reasonable assumptions about its structure. Based on the random-walk method, a numerical model for the propagation of model and real nutrient mediums in a gel is proposed. It is assumed that the model will make it possible to take into account the features of diffusion mass transfer in gels of various compositions. A comparison of the results of experiments and numerical simulation shows their good agreement.
