- Abstract
The International Journal on Minority and Group Rights (IJMGR) is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. The journal explores the complex issue of group rights from various perspectives, including legal, philosophical, and social. It examines concepts like "group," "minority," and "self-determination," and discusses the conditions necessary for protecting the existence and continuity of groups. The journal also addresses sources of conflict between different groups and debates the merits of actions to redress past discrimination. It aims to promote interaction between the international community, states, groups, and individuals, and analyzes the rights that should be protected, such as physical existence, freedom from discrimination, and cultural rights. The IJMGR is guided by an international editorial board, and its mission remains relevant in the face of increasing intolerance and threats to human rights globally. The recent conflict between Hamas and Israel highlights the importance of compromise and non-violence in the pursuit of group rights. The author, Yonah Alexander, reflects on his personal experiences as a survivor of history and emphasizes the importance of pursuing justice. He expresses gratitude to his academic collaborators and is currently writing a memoir on the lessons learned from the message of "Never Again."
