- Abstract
The article offers information on the Ili River, China & Kazakhstan, and mentions that Mongols live in the upper stream region of the Ili River including Ölets who are remnants from the massacre of Jungars who were destroyed by the Manchu Qing dynasty in 1755–1758 and Torguts who escaped the same fate in 1771. Topics discussed include preservation of books by Mongolian nomads, books printed in Kalmykia, Russia, and newspaper printed in Clear Script.
