- Abstract
An essay is presented on environmental justice, alcoholism among various American Indian populations, and the reported efforts to protect alcohol prohibition-related policies beyond the borders of Native American reservations as of 2014. According to the article, alcohol consumption is the leading cause of preventable death among American Indians. The U.S. Congress, tribal governments, and the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota are examined.
