The article analyzes the short stories "Cat in the Rain" and "The End of Something," by Ernest Hemingway. The author examines how Hemingway uses literary devices typically associated with poetry writing to construct his prose, such as rhythm, imagery, and repetition. Other topics covered include the depiction of bullfighting in "Cat in the Rain," theme of self-knowledge, and Hemingway's contributions to American poetry.
