- Authors
Rizzi, Joseph V.
- Abstract
The article examines the opportunities and challenges for private equity (PE) investments. Several ways by which PE can add value are through buying low, increasing cash earnings, financial engineering and selling high. Structuring options to avoid being deemed in control over management include minority passive investments, use of a voting trust, and club or consortium with multiple noncontrolling investors. Also indicated are the elements of an investment strategy and factors to consider in institutional transactions.
