The article offers information on the roads during the Roman Empire, their physical remains, and the organization and development of those roads. Topics discussed include the discovery several milestones in Province of Judaea built during the first century, the milestones built during the rule of emperors Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, and the milestones bearing the names of emperors such as Severus Alexander and Maximinus Thrax.
