- Title
Jocasta: “A Tragedie Written in Greeke”.
- Authors
Dewar-Watson, Sarah
- Abstract
An essay is presented regarding the play "Jocasta" which depicts the Greek tragedy in England based from the book "Phoenissae," by Euripides. It says that the presentation shows that the tragedy has influenced the drama in the country during the 16th century particularly in commercial playhouses. Meanwhile, the play fails to match with the Euripidean source because of adopting the Italian version of the play.
