- Abstract
The article examines the hyperbolic relationship between insulin secretion and sensitivity on oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). It is noted that insulin secretion and sensitivity are linked via a negative feedback loop, whereby pancreatic β-cells counterbalance changes in whole-body insulin sensitivity through a proportionate and reciprocal change in insulin secretion. It also analyzes studies which determined glucose tolerance status on the OGTT. Phases of the analyses that were conducted using the statistical analysis system (SAS) are discussed.
