- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study on the relationship between liver enzymes and the development of diabetes in Hisayama, Japan. It mentions that connections of serum γ-glutamyltransferase (GGT) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) with diabetes were found within each stratified category of risk factors. It says that GGT and ALT concentrations can be considered as strong predictors of the disease.
