- Abstract
This study investigates the effects of active learning pedagogy on university students' motivation. The design of this study is of a quasi-experimental nature, examining whether students' motivation changes as a result of active learning classes. In-class activities that promote motivation were used during the experiment. Pre- and post-motivation questionnaires were administered to thirty-eight participants that were enrolled as freshmen in a foundation course. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with four of the participantsfor in-depth analysis. Thefindings revealed that after the end of the semester, the participants were found to have significantly increased their motivation in language learning.
