- Abstract
Prostate cancer is a commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, but rates vary across regions. Genetic predisposition, lifestyle, and dietary changes play a role in its development. Recent studies have shown that the gut microbiome can influence the growth and progression of prostate cancer. A study in South Korea found that prolonged antibiotic use, specifically for 180 or more days, was associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. However, the study has limitations and did not consider antibiotic use after 2007. This research provides new insights into the link between antibiotic use and prostate cancer risk in the Asian population.
