- Authors
Botshon, Lisa; Plastas, Melinda
- Abstract
The article discusses the interruption of college students' ideas about Iran and Iranian women. It examines the use of the novel "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi in a variety of classes at the University of Maine and Bates College to begin discussions on several topics including race, terrorism and war. It looks into the significance of homeland insecurity in uniting college students enrolled at the institutions and the few similarities between them. It reveals the two primary reasons why the novel is taught in the classroom.
