- Abstract
A 64-year-old Japanese man with a past history of laryngeal carcinoma that had been successfully treated with radiotherapy 22 years earlier, visited an otolaryngologist in hospital complaining of difficulties in swallowing lasting for the past 3 months. Extramammary Paget's disease has an propensity to be complicated with other internal malignancies. This patient is unique in that he developed genital Paget's disease together with hypopharyngeal cancer, which developed in an area close to the site formerly involved by laryngeal cancer, the mucosa that might have been altered by the radiation therapy performed 22 years earlier.
