- Abstract
The article discusses the channel checking practice in investment research within the context of insider trading law. It proposes an appropriate regulatory framework, examines, and critique the policy goals of insider trading law to explain where channel checks and expert networks fit in. It also proposes solutions that attempt to balance the competing interests of market fairness and market efficiency.
