- Abstract
The article calls for improvement of the U.S. Gainful Employment Rule given the presence of predatory online graduate programs. It presents a retrospective analysis of the Gainful Employment Rule and discusses proposed changes including administering of federal student aid and expansion of the quality assurance role of the U.S. Department of Education. It considers the potential impact of the rule on Higher Education Act accountability provisions and the scope of incentive compensation ban.
