- Abstract
The article reports on the use of graffiti as a representation of an outpouring of silent indignation at the failure of the Mexican government to address the issues that affect the indigenous people of Chiapas, Mexico. The walls of San Cristóbal de las Casas are being used as a discussion board to express viewpoints about human rights abuses. The article also presents a background of art as a form of activism in Mexico and offers information on a group of artists called Grupo SUMA that calls for social change.
