- Abstract
The article offers information on a research study which assessed fat distribution in non-obese Japanese children and adolescents. The visceral fat area (VFA) and subcutaneous fat area (SFA) of 130 non-obese Japanese children from Kikugawa, Hamamatsu were quantified by computed tomography and measured in centimeter square. The findings of the study are presented and discussed in detail. It concludes that VFA seems more prevalent in boys that in girls, and SFA seems to accumulate more in girls than boys.
