Privacy in paediatrics.
- Abstract
The editor comments on the various types privacy relevant to pediatrics and pediatricians. He points out the conflict between perceived rights of a child to privacy and the mother's right to information about her child and he also explains the importance of respecting physical privacy to doctor-child relationship and to pediatric consultation. He stresses the need to respect privacy of patient health information on the grounds of legal requirements, ethics and moral obligation.
