- Title
The need for speed in stochastic simulation.

- Abstract
The article describes the use of flexible parallel-processing computer chip technology that speeds up stochastic simulation of cellular biochemical systems. Field programmable gate array, a flexible parallel-processing computer chip, is used to speed things up by making the simulation operate a little more like the biochemical reactions that it models. Stochastic simulation algorithm, the original technique for stochastic biochemical simulation, reveals the main reason for slow simulation speeds and simulating reaction events with mathematical precision requires processing each and every reaction event that occurs between molecules.
