- Authors
Dixon, Raymond A.; Lammi, Matthew
- Abstract
The article presents a study which demonstrates the theoretical basis and application of the two types of cognitive maps, concept maps, and mind maps in engineering design research. Concerned were the approaches and challenges to problem solving strategies in engineering design problems wherein cognitive mapping has been applied by researchers in technology education. Highlighted is the use of cognitive mapping for students and teachers to mentally represent and solve design problems .
