- Title
Treatment of Invasive Fungal Infections - Up to now, and the future.
- Authors
Bennett, John E.
- Abstract
The article offers information on several treatments for invasive fungal infections, including amphotericin B, miconazole, oral clotrimazole, and voriconazole. Amphotericin B was put into practice in 1950s and proved to be potent in managing fungal infections. A decade after, miconazole and oral clotrimazole were introduced, however, these treatments seemed to lack promise. In 1990s, lipid formulations of amphotericin B and voriconazole came into clinical trials and were significant.
