- Abstract
This article discusses the importance for health care organizations in the U.S. to employ a staff of highly trained loyal physicians. They discuss some of the factors that may affect physician turnover as well as some of the problems associated with high physician turnover. They suggest that one way to combat turnover is to take a relationship marketing approach to staff management. The aim of this approach is make physicians feel like more than just a component of the organization and more like a valued customer. The belief behind this approach is that it is more valuable to retain customers (physicians) rather than replace them. INSETS: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RELATIONSHIP BUILDING;EXECUTIVE HIGHLIGHTS.
