- Abstract
The article focuses on the scarcity of water and energy in Central Asian states in 2007-2008. Kyrgyztan's use of hydropower during the winter is said to cause the scarcity of water, which resulted to a lesser water supply in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, while Tajikistan has experienced problems in their energy supply. An agreement was signed in 1998 by these countries for their energy and water supplement but problems have occurred. They have also organized the International Fund for the Saving of the Aral Sea (IFAS) which enables the facilitation of their water and energy problems. Topographical background of these countries and discussions on their projects on water and energy supply are further mentioned.
