- Abstract
The article presents a morphometric study which examined the anatomy of fetal cricoid cartilage and its relationship with growth and body characteristics. A comparision between the inner cricoid cartilage measurements and endotracheal tube sizes is included. Weight was found to be the variable which most influenced the extent of the subglottic area. Researchers found that the mean area of the cricoid lumen was smaller than that of endotrachial tubes.
