Indian JV plans Indonesian aluminium smelter.
- Abstract
The article reports that Indian aluminium producer and exporter Nalco has agreed to build an aluminium smelter and a supporting power plant in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for Rak Minerals & Metals Invesment (RMMI). It states that Nalco has a 76 percent share in the project, which is expected to be completed in 2013. The remaining 24% of the share is owned by RMMI. It notes that RMMI plans to expand its infrastructure in Indonesia, and to be involve in other smelting and metal-based fabrication industries in the region.
