- Title
p-type doping of ZnO films and growth of tenary ZnMgO and ZnCdO: application to light emitting diodes and laser diodes.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the use of zinc oxide and its related ternary solid solutions as an alternative to gallium nitride in light emitting and injection laser diodes. It states that zinc oxide being environment friendly offers higher binding energy and can be grown on cheap substrates at low temperature. It also mentions that only gallium nitride has been developed commercially for the diodes due to lack of doping capability and stability of materials during process and operation.
