- Abstract
The author comments on the change of mechanics in the teaching of ballet technique. He states that there have been changed in the ballet classroom with the increase concentration on high leg extensions. Further he states that the best classical dancers are those who possess the extra dimension of high leg elevation and a streamlined physique. He also states that the influence of modern dance on the use of the spine and the torso has also been significantly important.
