- Abstract
To maximize the benefits of the use of industrial technologies in post-disaster housing reconstruction and reduce its negative medium and long term impacts, a multidimensional approach is proposed, which is based on the concept of appropriate technology within the principles of sustainability and resilience, which includes technological, economic, of the impact on the natural environment and socio-cultural aspects. This approach was evaluated in the technologies used with greater representation in the post Hurricane Sandy reconstruction, which occurred in 2012 in Santiago de Cuba: FORSA, VHICOA and Gran Panel. The results showed that from the technological dimension, the use of Gran Panel provides greater benefits but was the most expensive; the VHICOA produces minor impacts on the natural environment; and the surveys showed that the most socio-cultural acceptance, had the technologies Gran Panel and FORSA.
