- Abstract
The article describes the creative relationship and collaboration between author Henry Rider Haggard and critic Andrew Lang, who together wrote the book "The World's Desire." The author suggests that Lang admired Haggard's depictions of violence and imperialistic adventure in his fiction, especially the book "King Solomon's Mines." The author discusses Lang's study of classical Greek literature such as the epic poems of Homer and Haggard's depiction of African tribes in his fiction.
