The article reports that the mining company Grupo Mexico has agreed to pay for the environmental and public damages caused by the August 6, 2014 acid spill from the company's Buenavista Mine in Sonora, Mexico. Topics discussed include the amount set aside by the company for the damages, the environmental impact of the acid spill and the production capacity of the Buenavista Mine. Also discussed are the findings of a congressional committee that the company has violated mining laws.
