- Abstract
The article focuses on the structure of documentary films. It includes information on the interrogation of cinematic practice towards experimental film and the congruence of intentionality between contemporary theoreticians and experimental film-makers. According to the author, the range of non-narrative cinema is greater than the experimental film which shows its own materiality. The codes and units involved in the formal structure of documentary films are discussed. Information on the content of documentaries which includes craft, style, and excitement is also presented.
