- Title
Case C-623/23, Gender Discrimination, Social Insurance.
- Abstract
This document is a collection of pending cases related to gender discrimination in social insurance. The cases involve questions about whether certain Spanish rules on calculating benefits for permanent invalidity resulting from an accident at work, as well as rules on pension supplements for recipients of contributory retirement pensions, are contrary to EU rules on equal treatment for men and women. The cases raise concerns about potential indirect discrimination based on sex. The document presents the specific questions being considered in each case and seeks interpretation of relevant EU directives and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
