- Abstract
This article explores the gender disparities in emergency medicine research funding and the need for strategies to support women in this field. It focuses on the efforts of the Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine (AWAEM) in promoting research activities and supporting women clinician-investigators. AWAEM offers various initiatives, such as funding opportunities, research committees, professional development awards, and recognition programs, to address gender equity in emergency medicine research. The organization aims to increase the number of independent investigators and reduce the gender gap in this field.
