The article explores several humorous songs which take many forms which include silly, parody, subtle and witty. It mentions the song "Mairzy Doats," an example of a mondegreen, which is the mishearing or misinterpretation of a phrase of a song, and the silly songs "I Like Bananas (Because They Have No Bones)" and "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight?" It also cites the concert arrangements "American Folksongs: 35 Arrangements for Voice and Piano," that are filled with humorous folk songs and the foreign language song "Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht."
