- Abstract
Epidemics have been one of the incidents that have profoundly affected states and societies in every region of the world throughout history. Contagious diseases that broke out in a particular region have spread to other regions due to reasons such as trade, war and migration and gave rise to great casualties. As the economic, political and cultural interaction between societies increased, the spread rate of epidemics increased as well. Denizli, one of the intersection points of Central Western Anatolia, due to being located on fertile soils has occupied a position where people settled in every period of history, and has always established relations with the civilizations that came to existence in Anatolia due to its geographical characteristics and witnessed the sovereignty struggles of Anatolia and surrounding societies. Denizli has become a site that attracted the attention of people since the early periods of history since it is located at the intersection of roads and has high economic efficiency. This study aims to give information about epidemics such as plague, cholera, malaria, typhoid, pyrexia which occured in Denizli which is one of the most important cities of Anatolia due to its geopolitical position and the measure which were taken to prevent the spread of these diseases.
