Abstract
The article discusses the International Longevity Centre and renEWL's reports which analyzed the National Child Development Study in Great Britain during a week in March 1958. Topics discussed include the impact of physical and mental illnesses at younger ages on people's employment prospects in later life, increased risk of being permanently unwell during childhood at the age of 55 and association of traumatic events with reduced labor force participation.
