Meet the new TSIG Chair Pru Burns.
- Abstract
Pru Burns is the new Chair of the Technical Specialist Interest Group (TSIG) in Nuclear Medicine. She has been involved in the field since 1993 and currently works as the Unit Charge of Nuclear Medicine at Wellington Regional Hospital. Burns is also a member of the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board and has held various roles within the ANZSNM. She is focused on advancing the profession and supporting NMTs through initiatives such as mentorship programs and advocating for workforce needs. The profession is experiencing growth and expansion, but also facing challenges due to workforce shortages. Being a part of the ANZSNM and TSIG provides technologists with access to resources, professional development events, and a network of professionals in the industry. Outside of work, Burns enjoys activities such as riding her electric bike and spending time with family. Her advice to aspiring Nuclear Medicine Technologists is to embrace the advancements in technology and to listen to experienced professionals in the field.
