- Abstract
The article discusses a court case wherein postretirement benefits do not create an accrued benefit unless deemed applicable at the time the employees work for the employer. It cites the case filed by Charles Thornton against Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Supplemental Retirement and Disability Fund. The rescission of benefits claimed by Thornton is not subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) rule on anticutback.
