- Abstract
Background/Objectives: This study mainly aims at designing exercise equipment using motor torques instead of weights to provide isotonic exercise with higher exercise efficiency than the existing ones. Methods/Statistical analysis: The algebraic position analysis of exercise equipment designed based on a four-bar linkage mechanism and motor torque characteristics according to changes in forces applied to the equipment were investigated to provide isotonic exercise even when the force of a user changes. Findings: With the use of a vector loop method, the angular change () of the motor according to changes in the position of the equipment handle was obtained through the four-bar linkage position analysis. The motor torque for providing isotonic exercise to the user according to the change of the angle was also determined. Improvements/Applications: the motor load type exercise equipment makes it possible to adjust the force at a precise interval(0.1kg) and implement isotonic exercise that can maximize the exercise efficiency.
