The article discusses the study "Oral antiviral therapy for prevention of genital herpes outbreaks in immunocompetent and nonpregnant patients" by L. Le Cleach and colleagues and published in a 2014 issue of the periodical "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews". Topics discussed include compared suppressive treatment of herpes simplex virus with oral acyclovir, genital ulcers caused due to herpes simplex virus, and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases due to herpes simplex virus.
