- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the Asian American fictional book "Edinburgh," by Alexander Chee. Particular focus is given to the book's depiction of a biracial Korean American gay boy, including the novel's first-person retrospective narration. The book's portrayal of the sexual abuse of the child protagonist, including the protagonist's use of an Asian folktale of a fox-demon to come to terms with his resultant psychic trauma, is discussed.
