Abstract
The article reflects on the history of time from the Big Bang theory's hypothesis of its existence around 13.8 billion years ago to the invention of atomic clocks in 2014. It discusses the developments of time systems including the lunar calendar in 8,000 B.C., an Egyptian device called Gnomon in 3,500 B.C., and the water clock Clepsydra in 2,800 B.C. Also provided is information on the solar calendar in 400 B.C., the incense clock in 500 B.C., and the mechanical clock.
