- Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to point out the association between the constructs of school coexistence, inclusion and school discipline with school violence in Mexican high schools. The study was non-experimental, descriptive and correlational with a sample of 74,145 students from 3,011 schools, representing the 32 Mexican states. We proposed a theoretical model that reflects the variables included in the constructs as well as an empirical model through a multiple liner regression equation. The results show that there are negative associations of school violence with school coexistence and inclusion, as well as a positive association with school discipline. In conclusion, actions such as talks, sharing learning, confidence, liking, acceptance of the way of being and kindness among peers, as well as respect for differences, interest in student needs, individual attention, exchange of ideas, stimulate expression and support among students is negatively associated with school violence; while the admonitions, summons, suspensions of breaks, assignments of activities, decrease grades and take out of the classroom are positively associated with school violence. Limitations such as the complexity of the phenomenon of school violence as well as the vas constructions that generate it, were confronted.
