Title
Obelisks in Exile in London and Paris.
Abstract
The article discusses the condition of Cleopatra's Needle, the obelisk of King Thutmose III, on the Thames Embankment in London, England, and the obelisk in Paris, France, as of February 2009. Antique Bronze Ltd. noted some structural damage to the bronze collar and support at the base of the obelisk in London when it was cleaned by the specialist company. The newly-restored tip of the obelisk in Paris features a metal cap which fits over its damaged pyramidion.
