- Abstract
The article details a study which determined the presence and significance of Sialyl Lewis x-modified core 2 branched O-glycans (C2-O-sLex) expression in canine gastric carcinomas. Histological sections of 16 canine gastric carcinomas were categorized and stained to identify neutral and acid mucin. Study authors found that normal gastric mucosal epithelial cells were negative for C2-O-sLex, while 56 percent of the tumors examined were positive.
