Abstract
The article examines the deliberation process that gives rise to jury verdicts, and provides evidence challenging the idea that deliberation does not have an affect overt he ultimate verdict. The role played by cognitive constructs in the process of deliberation is examined, including recall for testimony, memory pooling, and heuristics.
