- Abstract
To fit the definition of EASL ACLF, one requires a single non-renal organ failure with a serum creatinine of >=1.5 mg/dl (133 mol/L). Utilising their criteria for organ failure would have reduced our existing ACLF cohort by 50%.2 This raises the question, what degree/definition of renal failure is needed to define paediatric ACLF? We agree with your sentiments that children are not small adults and had hoped in our study to highlight the limitations of existing adult ACLF scoring systems.
